NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–John Patrick University of Health and Applied Sciences (JPU) has teamed with Staten Island-based medical imaging experts, Anthony Mungo, RT and Thomas Petrone, Ph.D. to launch a hybrid, career-based Radiologic Technology Program.
The Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology (ASRTE) program was developed to create a pathway for high school graduates and working adults to obtain a college degree without the need to leave their current job. The ASRTE program blends a hybrid learning environment including classes delivered via distance education, clinical internship placements, and limited in-person instruction requirements. JPU is a member of NC-SARA and complies with all NC-SARA regulations.
The program also facilitates Radiologic Technology graduates having the option to seek BS and MS degrees or pause their educations to work. JPU’s highly credentialed and clinically-focused faculty deliver instruction in a way that prepares students to obtain the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in radiologic technology.
As technology has expanded and the population has aged, so has demand for highly skilled men and women to fill the varied positions available to radiologic technologists. Radiologic Technologists complete specialized training to accurately position patients and produce images of organs, extremities and other parts of the body that doctors then use to diagnose and determine treatment plans for injuries and disease.
John Patrick University founder and CEO Brent Murphy commented, “The Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology is really an opportunity for New Yorkers to tap into a very strong career track, and in a compressed period of time. This is particularly economically efficient for those who are already working and looking to change careers without having to quit work and potentially go into debt.
Mr. Murphy continued, “We worked closely with Mr. Mungo and Dr. Petrone, who are extremely well known in the field, to develop the curricula. They are not only passionate about educating the next generation of technologists, they are also proud to bring career opportunities to fellow New Yorkers.”
