RTT435 Research Methods and Capstone (2cr)This course introduces a variety of research methods in healthcare and includes the design and implementation of research processes as well as evaluating research outcomes. This course also focuses on preparing students for registry examination, as well as necessary preparation steps for a successful job search and career development.
Prerequisites: Clinical Oncology I (RTT301), Clinical Oncology II (RTT311), Physics and Treatment Planning (RTT410), and Clinical Practice I (RTT420). Since this is the culminating course for the program, permission of the Instructor is required prior to enrolling in this course.
Required:
There is no required textbook. The student will be expected to utilize library and Internet sources to complete assignments. Additionally, the instructor will distribute coursework material as appropriate for this course.

RS316 Professionalism and Workplace Experience* (5cr)This course is for non-licensed Radiation Therapists and will introduce the learner to professional development, professional ethics, and workplace relationships. Emphasis will be placed on the healthcare work environment.
This course is worth 5 credit hours. Students can expect a minimum of 208 hours of work for this course. This consists of at least 208 hours (approximately 16 hours per week) spent in the clinical setting. Students should expect to spend additional time outside of the clinic on preparation work needed to ensure success.

RTT420 Clinical Practice I* (5cr)This clinical rotation is designed to provide clinical experiences in areas of radiation therapy simulation and treatment. The student will keep a daily journal of clinical experiences as well as complete clinical competencies on patients undergoing radiation therapy.
This course is worth 5 credit hours. Students can expect a minimum of 208 hours of work for this course. This consists of at least 208 hours (approximately 16 hours per week) spent in the clinical setting. Students should expect to spend additional time outside of the clinic on preparation work needed to ensure success.

RTT421 Clinical Practice II* (8cr)This clinical rotation is designed to provide clinical experiences in areas of radiation therapy simulation, treatment, and medical dosimetry. The student will keep a daily journal of clinical experiences as well as complete clinical competencies on patients undergoing radiation therapy.
This course is worth 8 credit hours. Students can expect a minimum of 312 hours of work for this course. This consists of at least 312 hours (approximately 24 hours per week) spent in the clinical setting. Students should expect to spend additional time outside of the clinic on preparation work as needed to ensure success.
