Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging – Computed Tomography
The program is designed to prepare students to provide high-quality care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings. The Medical Imaging program prepares clinically competent students in their chosen specialty who will demonstrate effective communication skills, critical thinking skills, and professionalism.
The Medical Imaging program also offers specializations in Nuclear Medicine and Magnetic Resonance Imaging:
The BS in Medical Imaging program is offered through a hybrid learning environment. On-site instruction (boot camp) is required for successful program completion. Two On-site instruction (boot camp) sessions are required for successful program completion. Boot camp dates are determined by the student’s class schedule.
The BS in Medical Imaging program has the following learning outcomes:
- Obtain a level of clinical competence appropriate for an entry-level medical imaging professional.
- Possess critical thinking skills to adapt to changing clinical environments and patient needs.
- Exhibit professionalism through consistent ethical behavior.
- Demonstrate communication skills for effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
BS in Medical Imaging Program Details and Curriculum:
Required Credit hours: 60 (120*)
Program Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
JPU offers three (3) semesters per calendar year. Students enrolling at a full-time status for four (4) consecutive semesters can complete the program in approximately 16 months.
30 (100-200 level) technical/occupational credits will be accepted for transfer and *30 (100-200 level) General Education credits will be accepted for transfer. There must be at least one general education course from each of the four categories: Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, and Mathematics.
*General education credits are not required for program admittance but must be complete prior to program completion.

If required, is ARRT certification sufficient?

Does JPU’s program meet requirements to take the ARRT examination?
Yes. Graduates are eligible to take the ARRT examination. JPU’s accreditor, Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) is recognized by the ARRT.
