**Offered entirely through distance education. Program completion requires placement in a clinical setting to complete required competencies.

ARE THE PROGRAMS RESIDENT, ONLINE, OR HYBRID?

All degree programs except for the BS in Radiologic Science utilize the blended learning environment (hybrid). Certificate programs and the BS in Radiologic Science are 100% distance education. The proton therapy certificate and medical imaging certificates include a clinical practice course consisting of 240 hours achieved in the clinical setting.

JPU’s hybrid learning environment allows students to receive all communication and course material and submit coursework through a web-based course management system.  Students are required to participate in live weekly discussions for their classes as well as on-site instruction (boot camp week) each semester.  If the student’s performance is not satisfactory and benchmarks for improvement are not met, the student may be required to attend as a resident.

The clinical internship required for the program is to be served through a host site.  Students are expected to secure their own host sites.  JPU may be able to assist students in arranging host sites, but makes no guarantees.

HOW DO THE HYBRID PROGRAMS WORK?

3 Semesters are offered each year.

JPU’s student information system and course management system are used to manage communication and distribute all course material. The system allows students to communicate with other students, instructors, teacher’s aides, and administrative personnel.  During the semester, students are able to retrieve resources for classes, course material, weekly schedules and tasks, lecture videos and supplemental lecture material through the system.
